Flax is good for you!

Flax has health benefits, but in this case it has soothing benefits as well.  My first creation was the Flax Bag.  I have several people request them for feet warmers, massage tables, use in the birthing room, birthdays presents, Christmas presents, and just because.  I use flax instead of rice because it doesn't absorb odor or moisture as easily as rice.  It is more expensive but it makes such a great product. You can put them in the microwave or put them in the freezer for an ice pack.   I have several sizes and can make them to your requirements as well.

My favorite is the large size, it fits well across laps, shoulders, backs, and feet.  I use them for muscle pain after a good workout.  I use the kids ones for my children to cuddle with at night.  Material can be a favorite t-shirt, flannel, or standard woven.

Large is 28" in length, 8" wide, and 3lbs in weight  - $24
Medium is 25" in length 6" wide and 2lbs in weight - $20
Small is 19" in length 5" wide and 1.5 lbs in weight - $15
Kids in 19" in length 4" wide and 1lb in weight    - $12

Fancy Fairies

Last spring Everhart Photography hired me to make costumes for a photo event.  I was able to be there for the promotion shoot, partly because my children were able to be in the shoot, and partly because I wanted to see my masterpieces (costumes) in action.  All together there are four colors of vests all with different ribbon edging.  Pink, orange, yellow, and blue in alternating sizes.  There are six color options that can be mixed and matched into 36 different color combinations.  Here is the pink one and a sneak peak of the other costumes with pictures to come soon.

Tailoring, Alterations, Clothing Design

I know lately I have been heavily marketing my Tutu and accessory line, but I wanted to take a minute to get back to Banks Tailoring basics.

I love seeing people comfortable in their clothes.  Most importantly; to feel like your clothes are doing you a service and flattering you, making you the most presentable you can be.  Are your dress shirts, blouses, and suit shirts fitting properly?  Are you pants sitting perfectly at the base of your shoe with no slack, no puddle of fabric at the top of your shoe, or covering your ankles?  Are your jackets drowning your hands or gently sitting and covering your wrist.

I offer tailoring and alterations of all kinds to keep your clothes working FOR you, and not against you.  My prices are very very reasonable, I challenge you to find a professional tailor that can beat my prices.  I make my prices competitive so my clients feel good about investing in their wardrobe.

I guarantee my work, so you don't have anything to lose, call today to make an appointment.

American Made Tulle versus Chinese Made Tulle

One thing I market heavily with my tutus is that I use American made Tulle. How important to you is it to purchase American products and is it that important for me to stick to taking the extra effort to purchase American made tulle?
The tutus I have seen that are made in China are very low quality in my eyes.  I have also heard concern for quality and safety standards for their products.  I have made sure that when I buy tulle it is American made and I still keep my prices in an affordable range even though most of my competition is anywhere from $5-$25  MORE then mine and don't have the detailed waistbands and have half as much tulle as the ones I make.
I am very curious what you as a consumer look for when it comes to purchasing products.
Thoughts welcome!
